Currency Converter
Convert between supported world currencies using daily reference exchange-rate data from Frankfurter. Rates are fetched in your browser, cached locally, and clearly labeled as fresh, cached, or unavailable.
Convert amount
Currency metadata and rates come from Frankfurter v2. No exchange rates are hardcoded.
Use decimals or large numbers. Currency codes use the ISO format, for example USD, EUR, or INR.
Multi-Currency Converter
Convert one amount into several currencies with a single request; all target values are calculated in your browser.
Enter a 3-letter code then press Add.
Historical rates & trend
Daily reference-rate movement over 7 days, 1 month, 3, 6 months, 1 year, or a custom date range. Chart is drawn locally from real API data.
Compare currencies
Compare selected currencies at once — cross rates are computed locally from a single base reference request.
Cross rates below are computed from the base reference.
Exchange fee calculator
Estimate what a bank, card, or remittance provider really gives you after their rate spread and fees — compared clearly against the reference rate.
Auto-loaded from Frankfurter and editable. This is a daily reference rate — not the rate your bank or remittance provider will necessarily give you.
Reference rate unavailable
Enter the rate your provider actually gives you, or use the markup helper below to prefill a rate relative to the reference.
A reference exchange rate is not the rate a bank or remittance provider will actually give you. Providers apply their own spread and fees; this calculator helps you compare them clearly.
How the Currency Converter works
How currency conversion works
To convert an amount you multiply it by the exchange rate: amount × rate = result. For example, with a USD→INR reference rate of 83.4, 1,000 USD converts to 83,400 INR. This page lets you pick any supported base and quote currency, type an amount, and see the result instantly — the rate is fetched once and the arithmetic happens in your browser, so changing from 1 to 10,000 never triggers a new request.
What the rate date means
Frankfurter publishes daily reference exchange rates from the European Central Bank on working days. Weekends and bank holidays carry forward the most recent published rate, so you won't see a new data point for every calendar day. The badge under the result tells you whether the displayed data is fresh, served from your browser cache, or unavailable.
Reference rate vs provider rate
The reference rate is a market-style daily rate — it is not a guaranteed price. Banks, card networks, and remittance providers apply their own spread and fees, so the rate you are actually quoted usually differs. The Exchange Fee Calculator below keeps these two separate so you can compare a provider's rate against the reference rate honestly.
Historical rates and movement
The Historical rates section shows the real daily reference series for ranges from 7 days to 1 year, including start, end, highest, lowest, and the percentage change between start and end. The 1D, 7D, and 30D movement chips on the converter are calculated from the same actual historical data — never guessed.
Exchange fees explained
Providers charge in three common ways: a rate spread (their rate vs the reference rate), a percentage fee, and a fixed fee. The effective rate is simply what you actually receive per unit sent, after all of those. Use the fee calculator to see the breakdown for your own numbers.
Currency pairs and sharing
Every supported currency can be a base or a quote, so you can convert any valid pair, for example USD to INR, EUR to AED, or GBP to JPY. The Share button captures only the amount and the two currency codes in the URL, so a shared link reopens the exact same converter without exposing anything else.
Frequently asked questions
Are AeroTools currency rates real-time forex prices?
No. AeroTools uses Frankfurter daily reference exchange-rate data. The rate date is shown so you can see which reference date applies.
What happens if exchange-rate data cannot be fetched?
AeroTools uses the latest valid cached response when available and labels it as cached. If no valid cache exists, it shows an unavailable state instead of inventing values.
Is the currency list hardcoded?
No. The supported currency dataset is fetched dynamically from Frankfurter and normalized in the browser. A short popular-currency list is used only for default ordering.
Why might the rate I get from my bank be different?
The reference rate is a daily market-style reference, not a price your bank or remittance provider is obligated to give you. Providers add their own spread and fees, which is why the amount you actually receive can differ.
Does AeroTools store my amount or currency choices?
Your conversion amount and selections are processed in your browser. The only requests leave the browser to retrieve public exchange-rate data, and your URL keeps only the from/to/amount you chose.
Why is there no rate for a weekend or holiday date?
Reference rates are published once per working day. On weekends and bank holidays the last published rate remains the latest reference rate, so those dates are not counted as separate data points.
